Breast Cancer Screenings a Major Success |
November 3, 2009, Hoboken, NJ – October marked the 25th
anniversary of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Hoboken UMC
celebrated it with great success. About one hundred women came out to
Hoboken University Medical Center last Thursday for their annual free
breast cancer screening at the hospital, and as a result of this event,
seventy mammograms were scheduled. “This event helped spread the news to a very diverse population of
women in need during this challenging time,” commented Bridget Hogan,
MSN, RN who helped put the screening together. Special thanks to Hoboken UMC physicians, Dr. Benetta Miller, Dr.
Mario Mancheno, Dr. Vasanti Damle, Dr. Barbara Perlmutter, Dr. Claudio
Diaz-Socarras and Dr. Michael Sabido who voluntarily provided both
clinical and educational services to a large group of ‘anxious’ women. The staff at Ambulatory Services deserves commendation for their
professionalism and personal concern for the promotion of breast health
for our community. Together we can make a difference!
